TBI One Love Survivor Jeremy Johnstone

Hello, everyone. My name is Wendy. My son Jeremy was in a motorcycle accident oct 21st 2022. Our lives drastically changed that night as he was non responsive on the road CPR was preformed by the police who arrived first shortly after the EMS took over. They were unsuccessful at intubating him in the field, but were able to upon arrival at the hospital. Glasgow coma scale of 3 with 7 broken ribs right side one went through the lung, severe lung trauma multiple pneumonia’s, evoking in the lungs. Broken right tibia/fiba repaired 7th day of coma as he was too critical. 2 Intracranial drainage tubes frontal lobe for pressure control, blood clot in right leg. Diagnosis severe diffuse axonal injury grade 3/ severe TBI. 24days in ICU, two weeks ago n the nuro ward, 2. 5 additional months in rehabilitation facility t learn to weight bear, learn steps, eat, dress etc. We were told a lot of what he wouldn’t, and at his own speed he’s moving mountains. Frontal lobe damage, axonal sheering deep within the brain(corpus collasum sheering) skull fracture. He’s a miracle everyday we learn so much , and are very greatful lots of laughter, tears, frustration, but we have learned to take one day at a time, have patience and just enjoy each moment. We are now 15 months since the MVA. He still suffers from aphasia, balance and mobility, right side weakness from the stroke(brain bleeds). But we are very thankful. Please feel free to share Jeremy's journey with anyone. It may give someone else hope.
